A caregiver, in Tremont, contacted our office a few months ago, inquiring about options that would make bathing easier for a man that had a clawfoot tub in his bathroom. Our office staff told him about our walk-in tub options as well as the possibility for a walk-in shower.
Jared, one of our estimators, went out to the customer’s home in Tremont and had a long discussion about his needs regarding safety in the bathroom. Jared learned that the caregiver often had to help the homeowner get in and out of the tub and it was getting very difficult. The homeowner also wanted the bathroom completely renovated, in his 100+ year old house.
After taking a look at the bathroom and taking some measurements, he assured the homeowner that we could install a walk-in tub with an outswing door. He also priced out a remodel project on the rest of the bathroom. The homeowner was ready to do the project after hearing of all the benefits of a walk-in tub. He and Jared agreed on a price and discussed how long the project would take.
Once all of the materials arrived, the installation crew was slotted for a week in the home.
John and Judd began removing all of the old materials from the bathroom bright and early last Monday morning. The took out the clawfoot tub, removed the old sink and toilet and tore out the flooring.. By the end of the day, the bathroom was torn out and prepped for the rest of the week’s work.
Over the next four days, the installers worked many hours to get the job done. They installed a new subfloor in the tub area, redid the plumbing, adjusted some electrical wires to accommodate the walk-in tub jets and installed all new products.
The homeowner chose a SanSpa walk-in tub in white with water and air jets. He wanted White Carerra 12″ tile around the bathroom and a flat panel behind the tub. He chose a What Marble, Armstrong floor to match, as well as a white handicapped accessible sink and white toilet.
Though the job was a tough one, John and Judd finished it in just five days and it looks beautiful!
