The homeowner was a previous ReBath Northeast customer. When she heard that Rich Rome, owner and president of ReBath Northeast, was beginning a kitchen remodeling company, she visited the showroom to see what we had to offer. After years of living with her old kitchen, she was more than ready for something more modern and efficient.
She met with our kitchen designer Pat and chose her layout, cabinets, counter tops, backsplash, floor and lighting.
She decided to go with Merillat Classic cabinets, Armstrong Alterna flooring, Corian counter tops and a tile backsplash.
This is one of 1 Week Kitchens first full remodels. Even though there were some bumps to work through during the week, the installers were still able to complete the remodel in six days.
Just as promised, two of our wonderful ReBath installers, remodeled her kitchen. Everyone who works for Rome, at ReBath and 1 Week Kitchens, knows that the customers remember the superior service they received and the quality workmanship from the installers. When Rich began 1 Week Kitchens, he wanted to make sure that the kitchen customers receive the same service as our ReBath customers.
Here is an idea of how the week progressed:
On day 1 of the project, Bruce and Judd tore out the old cabinets, backsplash tiles and the old kitchen floor. They also removed a short half wall, which really opened the kitchen up and made enough room for a slight change in the layout.
Tuesday, day 2 of the project, Bruce and Judd finished laying the new subfloor and began installing the upper cabinets. By 3 p.m., nearly all of the upper and lower cabinets were in place.
Day 3 began with the installers laying glue for the Armstrong Alterna Vinyl tile floor. Once the glue was set, Bruce and Judd laid the tiles and were able to walk on them right away. After the floor was finished, they brought in the customer’s island. Bruce and Judd installed new light casings around lights that already existed and also installed two new lights above her cabinets. In the afternoon, the Corian countertops arrived and were installed.
On day 4, our tile team began installing the tile backsplash. While the tile was being set on the backsplash, Bruce and Judd installed the new sink and moved a few electrical outlets to more convenient places. Before finishing up for the day, the installers worked on the wall bracket for her new microwave.
The tile team grouted the backsplash early on day 5, while Bruce and Judd installed the hardware on the cabinets. They also uninstalled an old ceiling fan and moved the electric over to her new island so she could have light pendants.
On day 6, Bruce finished some odds and ends and gave the job a more completed look.
After the customer has time to put her own touches her new kitchen, we will post full after photos.
